Inside Counter Sales Representative

Schedule
• Onsite role only – this position is not remote or hybrid.
• Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
Compensation
• Base Pay: $19.00 to $20.00/HR
• Commission: Gross pretax annual income including commission approximately $55k to $60k
Actual compensation will vary based on individual performance, experience, and other factors.
The Inside Counter Sales Representative works as an ambassador and is responsible for establishing and maintaining good relationships with customers based largely on the branch “walk-in” business. Conducts sales from inside the office via telephone calls, and other forms of digital communication, with both potential and existing customers. Must build trust and act as support for prospects, ensuring they lead to potential and future sales. Responsible for offering the best possible customer experience as well as providing hands-on explanations of any new or updated products when necessary. Excellent social skills allow the fostering of strong relationships.
The Inside Counter Sales Representative must maintain a professional attitude with sincerity and enthusiasm, reflecting the organization's commitment to our customers. Develops product knowledge by reading current vendor tags and pamphlets and attending training classes to better communicate with the customer. The Inside Counter Sales Representative will also work with vendors and product specialists in your territory to provide value-added support to customers and to properly merchandise the branch store. Stay current with promotional events, new products and promotional collateral.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct sales calls and communicate with customers
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with inquiries and/or sales, promptly, courteously, and
• Build and maintain relationships with new and repeat
• Conduct sales transactions for walk-in customers
• Act as the point person for various branch initiatives and processes
• Participate in properly merchandising the store by working with Sales Leadership
• Educate customers on how products can benefit them financially and
• Develop the company's store business by providing excellent customer service and product promotion.

Position Qualifications:
Education:
• A high school diploma or GED is required.
Skills/Experience:
• Sales/Customer Service experience
• Solid communication and interpersonal

Requirements:
• 2-4 years of Inside Sales experience preferred.
• Industry knowledge in woodworking/building materials is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to handle high-volume customer interaction.
• Proven ability to manage relationships and provide solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Product Summary: Cabinetry Hardware (drawer slides/hinges/handles), lumber, PPE, laminate countertop materials, plywood/laminates (“sheet goods”), cabinetry, paint/stain (AKA “finish and coatings”), fasteners, sandpaper goods (“abrasives”), sinks, lighting, woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools. Those are some of the main categories of goods.
