Job Summary
The Production Supervisor is an important member of the plant leadership team and is responsible for ensuring that production, quality and safety goals are met. The incumbent will lead a team of manufacturing associates in a 24 hour per day, 7 day a week operation, and will use strong communication and leadership skills to achieve plant goals.
Responsibilities
• Supervise, monitor, and mentor a team of machine operators on multiple shifts to meet specific safety, quality, productivity, and delivery goals.
• Responsible for consistently applying policies, rules and the discipline process, and facilitating teamwork between and within process work cells.
• Lead the successful operation of the facility while making decisions related to conditions as they occur such as safety, productivity, maintenance, material availability, and schedule compliance to ensure maximum plant utilization and productivity.
• Meet EHS objectives and actively drive the safety culture at AFL by participating in the Observation Based Safety process, conduct safety audits, interact and engage with shift associates on the appropriate knowledge and use of Safe Work Instructions.
• Schedule compliance in meeting orders being processed throughout the plant.
• Define, measure, monitor, and share process performance metrics with individual operators and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Meet requirements of the operations quality, efficiency and material utilization.

Qualifications
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Strong math skills; ability to analyze problems and justify decisions.
• Able to support weekend and night shift operations.
• Demonstrated understanding and experience supervising in a lean manufacturing environment.
• Specific Training of basic supervisory skills such as Leadership, Motivation, Conflict Resolution, Time Management, and EEOC compliance is preferred.
• Able to execute Oracle WIP transactions and solve basic issues encountered in production.
• Experienced user of MS Outlook and Office (Excel and Word). Able to create well formatted documents in Excel and Word
Working Conditions
• Non-climate controlled manufacturing environment. Some evening and weekend work is required.
Minimum Education
• Associates Degree, or equivalent work experience
