About this role
As a HVAC Engineer , you will join Derby/ Warrington/ Manchester team to support our activities within the Nuclear Sector sector.
You will support the technical delivery of HVAC system design solutions that provide tempered and conditioned air to Reactor Island facilities, alongside systems that safely extract and treat contaminated air prior to atmospheric discharge. You will contribute across concept and detailed design phases, ensuring that ventilation and cooling solutions meet nuclear safety, performance, and legislative requirements.
You will work closely with system leads and multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated HVAC and chilled water solutions for safety-critical nuclear environments.

Support delivery of HVAC system design solutions for nuclear facilitiesProduce and check technical deliverables for nuclear ventilation and air conditioning systemsDevelop systems providing particulate abatement prior to discharge to atmosphereDesign air conditioning and cooling systems for temperature-controlled environmentsCollaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure system integration and performanceProduce HVAC design deliverables through Concept and Detailed Design phasesGenerate technical reports, calculations, and drawings supporting system designAct as an HVAC subject matter expert during supplier and stakeholder engagementPresent design maturity and technical solutions at design reviews Required Skills:
Knowledge of systems engineering principles applied to HVAC systemsExperience developing HVAC designs from concept through detailed definitionAbility to perform trade-off studies to achieve optimal design solutionsExperience writing and checking HVAC technical documentationStrong collaboration skills across multi-disciplinary engineering teamsAbility to plan work, manage time, and escalate technical risks appropriatelyRequired Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Desirable Skills:
Experience in nuclear or other safety-critical industriesFamiliarity with verification and validation techniquesExperience working within regulated engineering environments Why join us?
