About this role
What you will do You will be a member of the in-Line Metrology Process Engineering team. This team is responsible for the standard metrology processes and tools in the cleanroom. As a process engineer you will be responsible for multiple tools with a focus on X-ray metrology and electrical/magnetic measurements. You will work on different measurement techniques like XRR, XRD, XRF, TXRF, VDP-ICP-MS, MOKE, FMR, CIPT, MH, and sheet resistance. You will create the automated measurement recipes on your tools which the operators will run afterwards. You are the expert on the application that you own and will answer all customer questions. You own multiple metrology equipment, and you will be responsible for process & tool qualification, the stability, and problem prevention as well as improvements in efficiency, throughput, safety and quality. You will troubleshoot issues related to the metrology processing and enable first line trouble shooters to step up. You will communicate effectively with the stakeholders via multiple channels (IT systems, meetings, mail, etc.) You will work in a dynamic multidisciplinary and multicultural environment in close cooperation with researchers, hardware engineers, operations, industry assignees, device and process experts. You will work in a shift system, working in two shifts (Early/Late) including 1weekend (Sat + Sun) out of 4, to support the operations department which is working 24/7. Who you are You obtained a Master in Science or Engineering or equal by experience and display strong engineering skills and mindset. PhD’s without industry relevant experience will not be considered. A solid theoretical foundation and hands-on experience in one or more of the techniques listed below is essential: TXRF, XRF and VDP-ICP-MS Knowledge of the following techniques is a plus: MOKE, FMR, CIPT, MH, XRR, XRD and sheet resistance As timing is critical in our business, we are looking for people who can evaluate and respond effectively to incoming requests and issues in a timely matter. A proactive mindset and flexibility is key. As you will work in cross functional teams, strong proactive communication and reporting skills are required. You strive to document and report your work to highest quality standards. Given the international character of imec, fluency in English is a must.
