About the Team
The Brokerage Operations team is the backbone of our investment products, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our trading and account services. As a team of maker-owners, we manage the critical processes that handle billions of dollars, from trade settlement and corporate actions to client reporting and maintaining the official book of record.
We’re looking for an Associate on our new Platform Operations team to help scale our brokerage processes as Wealthsimple grows! In this role, you will work cross functionally to optimize, redesign, or build new processes from the ground up to support best industry practices. You will work closely with VP operations, Engineering, and Product teams to ship high impact work while assisting in ledger oversight.
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:
Support the transformation of brokerage operations through hands-on analysis, process execution, and improvement implementation as part of our specialized platform operations team
Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Compliance teams to support operational requirements and ensure accuracy of client transactional data
Support implementation of process improvement initiatives and automation projects, including gathering requirements and coordinating with technical teams
Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and audit processes, ensuring operational readiness and compliance
Create and maintain operational dashboards and reporting tools to track ledger health and operational metrics
Support product launch operational requirements by documenting new processes and identifying potential risks or improvement opportunities
Contribute to the reduction of key person risk through systematic process documentation and knowledge transfer initiatives
What you’ll bring:
Have understanding of brokerage operations, trade settlement, reconciliations, or similar financial processes
Have proficiency in Excel, SQL, or similar data analysis tools, with willingness to learn new technologies
Are organized with exceptional attention to detail and comfortable working on multiple priorities with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Have excellent people skills and a positive attitude. You will be working in a highly collaborative environment across multiple teams
Are naturally curious: if something seems off with data or processes, you want to dig deeper and understand the root cause
