The Workflow Optimization team evaluates and optimizes end-to-end workflows across our CXO (Customer Experience and Operations) function. This team is instrumental in driving transformative change, enhancing operational efficiency, elevating customer satisfaction, and delivering measurable business outcomes.

This opportunity is for a 2 month secondment to pilot a new working model for the Workflow Optimization team. As the Automations and Systems Associate, you will be part of a cross functional pod whose focus is to proactively improve the workflows, knowledge bases, processes, systems, and automations of a particular Domain.

As the Automations and Systems Lead, you will:

Be the SME on all the Workato Recipes that run on your domain’s Zendesk and JIRA tickets, including making updates to existing recipes, and building net ones.

Be the SME on all Zendesk Macros, Views, and Triggers relevant to your domain, and be responsible for updating and improving them.

Participate in the technical design of new processes, including brainstorming, experimenting with potential solutions, and scoping requirements.

This 2 month secondment is part of a pilot, wherein the WFO and CXO leadership teams will be defining and assessing a new cross-functional working model. Success for the pilot period as a whole means establishing productive operating cadences. Success for the Automations and Systems Associate role within that pilot means delivering on the responsibilities above, as well as providing feedback and suggestions for those operating cadences. At the end of the secondment period, the expectation is for the associate to return to their prior role.

What you'll bring:

Technical Acumen: Experience building net-new recipes in Workato, IFTT, Zapier, or similar tools. Experience on the administrative side of Zendesk and/or JIRA (e.g. configuring automations/triggers, building views).

Experience in tools such as ClaudeCode and GitHub is a plus (Note that your interviewers use these tools daily, and expectation for a successful secondment is to hit the ground running in the areas you are proficient in. It’s not necessary to have familiarity in all of the above tools, so please be transparent!)

Troubleshooting Ability: A demonstrated ability to look at a broken automation or failing SQL query, and systematically narrow down and resolve any issues.

Collaborative Mentality: A desire to work as part of a close-knit working group, supporting your colleagues in their deliverables, and a “teamwork makes the dreamwork” mentality.

Problem Solving: Structured problem solving and process thinking, with the ability to translate ambiguous workflows into clear maps and requirements

Core Requirements

6-9 months of experience in JIRA and ZenDesk at a configuration/administrative capacity.

6-9 months of experience with automation platforms.

Hybrid position: 1x/week in our Toronto office.

This role closes for application on February 20th at 10am EST.

Compensation

🤑 Hourly pay range: For this role, candidates located in Canada can expect a based hourly pay range of CAD $25.00 - $31.25. Actual compensation is determined based on skills, experience, and role level. Exceptional candidates may be considered above the top of the range, and pay can increase quickly for those who make a big impact in the role.
