This individual will also have responsibility for ensuring that updated DCRD and Company Markings (Document Control & Retention Data eg: IP statements, confidentiality, export control statements, etc) policies are in place as well as working with IT on IT security/insider threat issues.</p> </div></div><div style="padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;"><div style="word-wrap: break-word;">Job Responsibilities </div><div><p><strong>Job Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Draft, update, and review export control policies and processes.</li> <li>Export control compliance programme to include a systematic rolling audit program.</li> <li>Direct managerial responsibility for 1-2 direct reports, functional capability for 17-18 export control practitioners.</li> <li>Regulator / industry body engagement in conjunction with the GC.</li> <li>Advising on complex licensing issues and plans / sharing best practice.</li> <li>Training (both to the L&C function and the business as a whole).</li> <li>Internal / external reporting.</li> <li>IT / IT security / insider threat.</li> <li>DCRD / Company markings.</li> <li>Risk registers for export control compliance.</li> <li>Export control aspects of Transformation (in conjunction with Head of Legal Ops /Global Functions).</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree.</li> <li>10+ years of experience of dealing with civil and defense complex technical export control issues in the key jurisdictions of the US and UK , with a proven track record of particular experience in US export control regulations.</li> <li>Must have the ability to obtain a Secret DOD clearance.</li> <li>Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>GKN Experience.</li> <li>US Government or In House experience.</li> <li>An Active DOD secret clearance is strongly preferred.</li> <li>Proven track record of managing multi-national teams.</li> <li>Experience of running audit programs.</li> <li>Ability to drive change and embed transformation.</li> <li>Ability to identify, focus and prioritise key compliance matters.</li> <li>Offer pragmatic, commercially focussed advice.</li> <li>Identify, work with and influence key internal and external senior stakeholders.</li> <li>Collaborate highly effectively within business and functions.</li> <li>Integrity and courage; challenge effectively; deliver tough messages.</li> <li>Embrace and demonstrate the GKN 5 values.</li> <li>Work efficiently and finish tasks- strong completer/ finisher; dynamic and resilient but demonstrate work/life balance.</li> <li>Delegate, inform and know when to ask for help.</li> <li>Understand how technology is changing our industry and what we can contribute to the strategy of the business.</li> <li>Adapt and succeed against a background of change/uncertainty.</li> <li>Ability to travel 50% or more.</li> </ul> </div></div></div><p>Diversity and Inclusion</p> <p>As a global engineering company, innovation is what differentiates us from our competitors and is central to our success.</p> <p>A balance of cultures, ethnicities and genders help bring new ideas and creativity to GKN.
