<p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Cambria, serif"><strong><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%">Position Summary</span></strong></p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Cambria, serif">STULZ USA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support the Manufacturing Engineering team in improving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity throughout the manufacturing operation. This position provides hands-on exposure to manufacturing processes, capital equipment projects, facility planning, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.<br><br>The intern will assist with data collection, time studies, process analysis, facility layouts, 5S activities, and capital project implementation while gaining practical experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.</p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Cambria, serif"><strong><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%">Key Responsibilities</span></strong></p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Cambria, serif">• Support Manufacturing Engineers with the planning and execution of Capital Expense (CapEx) projects.<br>• Assist with equipment installations, relocations, and manufacturing layout changes.<br>• Conduct time studies and collect production data to support labor standards, capacity planning, and process improvements.<br>• Create and update manufacturing floor layouts using AutoCAD or other approved software tools.<br>• Assist with workflow analysis and material flow optimization projects.<br>• Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.<br>• Support 5S implementation, audits, workplace organization activities, and sustainment efforts.<br>• Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing data to identify improvement opportunities.<br>• Assist with development and updating of work instructions, standard work documents, and process documentation.<br>• Participate in Kaizen events and process improvement workshops.<br>• Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities.<br>• Assist with equipment, tooling, and fixture evaluations.<br>• Prepare reports, presentations, and project updates for engineering and operations leadership.<br>• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Engineering personnel on cross-functional projects.<br>• Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working in manufacturing environments.<br>• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.</p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Cambria, serif"><strong><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%">Qualifications</span></strong></p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Cambria, serif">Required:<br>• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.<br>• Minimum sophomore standing preferred.<br>• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.<br>• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.<br>• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.<br><br>Preferred:<br>• Previous manufacturing, engineering, technical, or internship experience.<br>• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.<br>• Exposure to AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design/layout software.<br>• Knowledge of time studies, process mapping, or industrial engineering concepts.</p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Cambria, serif"><strong><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%">Learning Opportunities</span></strong></p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Cambria, serif">• Capital equipment project management<br>• Manufacturing process improvement<br>• Lean Manufacturing methodologies<br>• 5S implementation and sustainment<br>• Facility and production layout design<br>• Time studies and labor analysis<br>• Data collection and statistical analysis<br>• Cross-functional project coordination</p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Cambria, serif"><strong><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%">Working Conditions & Physical Requirements</span></strong></p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Cambria, serif">• Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and industrial operations.<br>• Required use of PPE while on the production floor.<br>• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.<br>• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.<br>• Limited travel between STULZ facilities may be required.</p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Cambria, serif"><strong><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%">Schedule</span></strong></p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Cambria, serif">• Approximately 20 hours per week during the academic year.<br>• Flexible scheduling available to accommodate class schedules.<br>• Additional hours may be available during semester breaks and summer periods.</p>
