This position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction while serving as a coach and motivator for students in grades 3–8. The Future 2 Teacher supports a non-traditional learning model that blends rigorous academics, adaptive and AI-supported learning, and real-world experiences to prepare students for long-term success.<br>The Future 2 Teacher collaborates closely with administrators, learning coaches, apprentices, families, and community partners to ensure students feel known, challenged, and supported while meeting academic and experiential promotion requirements.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES</H2> </div><div><p>1. Deliver high-quality core academic instruction aligned to HISD curriculum, accountability standards, and Future 2 design principles.<br>2. Teach mixed-grade cohorts within the Future 2 dyad model for designated courses and learning experiences.<br>3. Design and facilitate engaging, discussion-driven lessons that promote critical thinking, judgment, collaboration, and adaptability.<br>4. Integrate AI-enabled and adaptive learning tools to accelerate student learning and model responsible technology use.<br>5. Explicitly teach and assess Habits of Success using District-adopted rubrics and performance-based assessments.<br>6. Conduct regular individual and small-group coaching sessions to support student goal-setting, persistence, and accountability.<br>7. Motivate students to meet academic benchmarks and successfully complete required dyad experiences.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES CONTINUED</H2> </div><div><p>8. Monitor, track, and analyze student progress toward promotion and performance criteria.<br>9. Address disengagement or resistance using developmentally appropriate and productive strategies.<br>10 Maintain a structured, positive learning environment with high expectations for attendance, behavior, and effort.<br>11 Prepare students for experiential learning opportunities including field trips, community-based learning, and travel experiences.<br>12 Foster strong, supportive relationships that promote student engagement, confidence, and ownership of learning.<br>13 Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, expectations, and requirements.<br>14 Collaborate with administrators, learning coaches, teacher apprentices, and community partners to support student outcomes.<br>15 Participate in professional development, collaborative planning, and continuous improvement efforts.<br>16 Support extended-day programming as assigned.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">POSITION REQUIREMENTS</H2> </div><div><p>WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT<br>Work requires frequent independent judgment in instructional design, motivation strategies, and student support decisions. General supervision is provided, with high expectations for autonomy, professionalism, and instructional effectiveness.<br>High personal standards and ability to hold students to excellence. Strong classroom presence, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building skills. Flexibility and adaptability within a non-traditional instructional model.<br>BUDGET AUTHORITY<br>None.<br>PROBLEM SOLVING<br>Position requires identifying instructional and motivational challenges and implementing appropriate strategies to support student success. Solutions are typically developed collaboratively and refined through feedback and data review.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Education</H2> </div><div><p>Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.<br>Valid Texas Teacher Certification preferred or active enrollment in a certification program.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Experience</H2> </div><div><p>0–5 years of teaching experience preferred.<br>Experience coaching, mentoring, or motivating students strongly preferred. Communication focuses on instructional clarity, motivation, collaboration, and alignment with Future 2 program expectations.<br>CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS<br>Builds and maintains strong relationships with students and families.
