Job Title: Senior Specialist, Field Engineering Job Code: 32302 Job Location: Palm Bay, FL Job Description: L3Harris is currently seeking an individual to provide onsite support at an overseas customer location. The individual should be able to work independently at a high level with reach-back support available for complex issues that require engineering support. The individual will be responsible for deploying, troubleshooting, operating and training while embedded with the customer. Essential Functions: <ul type="disc"> <li style="">Supporting customers onsite with complex communication equipment</li> <li style="">Support routine and scheduled maintenance on SATCOM terminals, RF equipment, baseband systems, antennas, power systems, and related network components.</li> <li style="">Troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve hardware, software, and network faults to restore full system functionality.</li> <li style="">Conduct system health checks, diagnostics, and performance monitoring.</li> <li style="">Coordinate with engineering support teams and vendors for escalated issues, repairs, and system upgrades.</li> <li style="">Support DoD projects/programs with preference given to cross domain C4ISR and/or Information Operations experience</li> <li style="">Integration and application of hardware and software on system/networks</li> <li style="">Capability to troubleshoot problems at component, system, and network</li> <li style="">Frequently responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees across the Company within area of expertise.</li> <li style="">Communicates within and outside of the organization which include customers or vendors.</li> <li style="">Communicates with leadership regarding matters of importance to the functional or business area.</li> <li style="">May conduct briefings with customers and program leadership</li> <li style="">Work consists of making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of job area.</li> </ul> <ul> <li style="">Must be able to provide support OCONUS embedded with customer with reach-back Engineering support as needed</li> <li style="">Configure, operate, and monitor SATCOM equipment to ensure optimal link performance and availability.</li> <li style="">Assist in system integration with customer networks, tactical systems, or communications infrastructure.</li> <li style="">Maintain accurate logs of outages, events, configurations, and maintenance actions.</li> <li style="">Deliver hands-on training to customer personnel on system operation, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.</li> <li style="">Serve as the on-site technical subject matter expert (SME) for all aspects of the SATCOM system.</li> <li style="">Prepare and maintain documentation including SOPs, maintenance records, configuration baselines, and technical reports.</li> <li style="">Deploy to customer locations, sometimes in remote or austere environments, based on mission requirements.</li> <li style="">Manage spare parts, tools, and system components to ensure operational readiness.</li> <li style="">Support installation, upgrades, integration, and acceptance testing of new system components.</li> <li style="">Other duties as required by customer and program</li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul> <li style="">Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.</li> <li style="">U.S. Citizenship.</li> <li style="">Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance with current 5-year update</li> </ul> <ul type="disc"> <li style="">Must have or be able to pass a polygraph.</li> <li style="">Must have or be able to get Security+ within a year of employment.</li> <li style="">Experience supporting DoD projects/programs with preference given to cross domain C4ISR and/or Information Operations experience.</li> </ul> <ul> <li style="">Experience using Microsoft Office products</li> <li style="">Physical Requirements: ability to lift to 50 lbs.</li> <li style="">Must be able to be in-country with OCONUS customer for two years with periodic CONUS morale travel</li> </ul> Preferred Additional Skills: <ul type="disc"> <li style="">Hands-on operational experience with Linux (CentOS/Red Hat) and Windows Server systems software installation, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing.</li> <li style="">Familiarity or experience with supporting major joint/combatant command software systems.</li> <li style="">Familiarity or experience with Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) and/or Air Operations Centers (AOC).</li> <li style="">Familiarity or Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, and Docker-Compose).</li> <li style="">Comfortable working in a command line/non-GUI environment.</li> </ul> <ul> <li style="">Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.</li> <li style="">Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)</li> </ul> #LI-NB1
