The Project Engineer role involves performing and/or coordinating propulsion program tasks in conjunction with program management. Under limited general direction, you will be responsible for implementing design and analysis tasks and overseeing special studies and experiments. </span></p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Additionally, you will coordinate ballistic, thermal, and structural analyses, as well as perform post-test examination, analyses, and reporting to support the program.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Under general direction, the Specialist Project Engineer determines approaches to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices: Scope of duties to include:</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Support Engineering teams working on solid rocket motor development and production program tasks/problem resolution, etc. Coordinate engineering work; manage technical progress, risk, schedule, and cost as needed.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Monitor technical progress and interface with Program Management, Aerojet Rocketdyne customers, and other Aerojet Rocketdyne functional organizations to understand and develop resolution to program technical issues.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Provide technical consultation to Program Management and Business Development organizations for business development activities such as writing white papers or preparing and presenting technical briefings to customers.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Support the technical lead on proposals to government customers or prime contractors for propulsion development or technology programs.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Provide inputs to written and verbal status reports to Engineering lead, Aerojet Rocketdyne Management, and provide input and leadership at product team meetings.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Travel: 25%.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Qualifications:</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior Project Engineer experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior Project Engineer experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior Project Engineer experience.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Preferred Additional Skills:</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Experience with solid propellant propulsion projects is highly desired.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Background in CAD, GD&T, Analysis or Materials is desirable.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is desired.</span></li> </ul> <p style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;color:white">#LI-HW1</span></p>
