<h1>Job Description – Officer III (Plant Planning)</h1> <h3>Position Title:</h3> <p><strong>Officer III – Plant Planning</strong></p> <h3>Department:</h3> <p><strong>Production Planning & Control (PPC)</strong></p> <h3>Reporting To:</h3> <p><strong>Manager – Planning / PPC Head</strong></p> <h3>Key Responsibilities:</h3> <ol> <li><strong>Production Planning & Scheduling</strong> <ul> <li>Prepare and release daily, weekly, and monthly production plans as per the Integrated Production Plan (IPP).</li> <li>Ensure timely scheduling and handover of production plans to all manufacturing shops.</li> <li>Monitor plan adherence and take corrective actions to achieve production targets.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Machine Loading & Capacity Planning</strong> <ul> <li>Coordinate with shop floor teams for effective machine loading and optimum utilization of resources.</li> <li>Address critical and special production requirements by aligning machine capacity and manpower availability.</li> <li>Identify bottlenecks and recommend corrective measures for smooth production flow.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Material Requirement Planning (MRP)</strong> <ul> <li>Prepare and maintain Material Requirement Planning (MRP) for production requirements.</li> <li>Ensure timely availability of raw materials, consumables, and bought-out items.</li> <li>Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with concerned departments to avoid shortages.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Raw Material Monitoring</strong> <ul> <li>Track steel and other raw material availability against production requirements.</li> <li>Coordinate with the Procurement team for timely material procurement and delivery.</li> <li>Monitor material consumption and update planning records accordingly.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Cross-Functional Coordination</strong> <ul> <li>Coordinate daily with the Raw Material Yard for receipt and availability of raw materials.</li> <li>Liaise with the Quality Control team for timely inspection and clearance of incoming materials.</li> <li>Coordinate with the PPC/Design team for availability of sketches, drawings, and production documents.</li> <li>Ensure seamless communication between Planning, Production, Procurement, Quality, and Stores teams.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>MIS & Reporting</strong> <ul> <li>Prepare daily production planning reports, material status reports, and progress updates.</li> <li>Analyze production variances and provide recommendations for improving planning efficiency.</li> <li>Maintain planning records and ensure data accuracy in ERP/MIS systems.</li> </ul> </li> </ol> <h3>Required Skills & Competencies:</h3> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Production Planning & Control (PPC).</li> <li>Understanding of Material Requirement Planning (MRP).</li> <li>Knowledge of manufacturing processes and machine loading.</li> <li>Good analytical and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel.</li> <li>Strong coordination and communication skills.</li> </ul> <h3>Qualification:</h3> <ul> <li>B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering) or equivalent.</li> </ul> <h3>Experience:</h3> <ul> <li>5–8 years of experience in Production Planning, PPC, or Manufacturing Planning functions.</li> </ul>
