This position is a full-time position, eligible for hybrid work. You will report to the North America Director of Sales.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><em><strong>In this role you will have the opportunity to:</strong></em></span></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Proactively research new customers and leads, converting them into sales opportunities, and successfully closing the resultant deals.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Manage customer accounts under the direction of business unit management, and in collaboration with the other sales team members.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Work closely with internal teams, such as marketing, product management, engineering, and customer service, to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Prepare requests for quotation (RFQ), requests for information (RFI) and requests for proposal (RFP) to an extremely high standard in accordance with the Vaisala Sales Process.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Assist in planning and implementing sales strategies in alignment with Vaisala strategy and market trends, challenges, and opportunities.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Collect, analyze, and document market information relevant to Vaisala business (on customers, applications, competitors) and report results.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Establish prices with Sales &amp; Marketing leadership to ensure profitable sales by achieving established financial expectations.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Provide data to Sales &amp; Marketing leadership for budgeting and action planning, forecasting sales performance and maintaining a robust, healthy sales funnel.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Support customer visits, trade shows and events. Travel is expected 50% of the time and during normal business and may be as frequent as every other week.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">As the successful candidate you will be a self-starting team player, and a curious and creative problem solver. Patient and analytical, you will have a proven track-record brokering winning solutions that mutually benefit all the involved parties and build deep, trust-based lasting partnerships.</span></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><strong>What will you bring?</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in engineering, meteorology, atmospheric science, or a related field.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">3 years of technical sales experience in the weather enterprise or industrial instrumentation sectors, preferably in the B2G space.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">A solid technical background and knowledge of weather observation and forecasting products and solutions.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Willingness and ability to grow competence by learning relevant industry standards (e.g. WMO, AMS, FAA), as well as market specific issues (culture, customers, competitors).</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Desire to learn the Weather Enterprise, including its market trends, challenges, and opportunities.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Self-motivated, flexible, and well-organized team player with a positive attitude towards customer service.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Well-versed proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and CRM tools such as Salesforce.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Exemplary written &amp; verbal communication and negotiation skills, including presentation and professional, federal and provincial bid submission documentation.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Available to travel as required and a valid driver&apos;s license with a good driving record.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Fluency in English (written and spoken) is a must.
