In this role, s/he will be responsible for managing a variety of legal, compliance and risk support across APAC geographies as designated.</p> <p>S/he should have a broad foundation of corporate commercial experience in contract review, legal advisory, legal support for day-to-day operations and compliance initiatives.</p> <p>This role would require the incumbent to have a solutions-oriented, accountable and ethical mindset.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="margin:0.0px"><b>Responsibilities</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Act as lead counsel, trusted advisor and strategic business partner</li> <li>Draft, review, and manage negotiation of commercial agreements, including procurement, original equipment manufacturers (OEM), distributorship and dealer agreements, ensuring all legal obligations are met and risks are mitigated</li> <li>Liaise with external parties including managing external counsel and contract negotiations with customers, channel partners and vendors</li> <li>Develop and train internal stakeholders in their review of commercial contracts</li> <li>Provide legal guidance and support to internal stakeholders in the areas of procurement, logistics and supply chain, brand marketing, labour & employment, information and technology, debt collection, dispute resolution, intellectual property, corporate communications, corporate governance and strategic transactions</li> <li>Provide support on all compliance and risk matters and activities, including collaborating with the compliance team to carry out investigations, and to implement initiatives, policies and procedures to promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct in the areas of antibribery, antitrust, sanctions and data privacy</li> <li>Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory issues</li> <li>Partner with stakeholders at all levels of the organization across geographies and regions</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="margin:0.0px"><b>Requirements</b></H2> </div><div><ul type="disc"> <li>Degree in Law (LL.B) or its equivalent</li> <li>Professional legal qualification (e.g. Bar Admission, Solicitor’s qualification) or its equivalent</li> <li>7 to 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience within a law firm and corporate in-house legal department (MNC preferred)</li> <li>Ability to handle multiple ad-hoc priorities, assignments with a sense of urgency to accomplish objectives in time frames necessary to support business objectives</li> <li>Experience in the management and negotiation of commercial contracts and transactions</li> <li>Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels across regions.</li> <li>Ability to present ideas and concepts, in an easy-to-understand and concise manner, and appropriately tailored for varying audiences.</li> <li>Demonstrated counseling and decision-making skills with the penchant in appreciating the overview of business strategy and operational needs in the preparation of legal advice</li> <li>Practical hands-on experience with a strong collaborative and receptive approach to teamwork and providing resolutions</li> <li>Excellent communication skills and proficiency in any South-East Asian language is an advantage</li> <li>MS Office proficiency and savviness in technology tools</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="margin:0.0px"><b>Skills</b></H2> </div><div></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="margin:0.0px">Local contract terms only</H2> </div><div></div></div></div><p>Understanding that Serving Society with Superior Quality is our heritage and our mission, and embracing our responsibility to future generations as a global leader in our industries, Bridgestone and its teammates around the world employ innovation and technology to improve the way people move, live, work and play.</p>
