A national search is underway to identify the next Chair. </span></p> <p><br><span style="">Founded in 1903, the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine has a strong history of involvement in undergraduate, medical, and postgraduate education, pathology service and the acquisition of new knowledge related to human disease. Key opportunities for the next Chair include advancing precision medicine and hematopathology capabilities, expanding research enterprises aligned with future NCI designation and Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center designation goals, and deepening clinical partnerships to enhance service integration. The Chair is responsible for expanding high impact clinical programs and innovative diagnostic services, rebuilding research infrastructure, and strengthening departmental culture to support faculty engagement and retention. </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="">Additionally, the Chair will be responsible for:</span></p> <ul> <li style=""><span style="">Developing and communicating a vision for the future of the department and maintaining a strategic plan and goals that align with those of the CoM, UC Health, UC Physicians, VA Medical Center, and Cincinnati</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Children’s Hospital Medical Center.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Directing and overseeing the quality and effectiveness of the department’s educational programs; fostering an environment that emphasizes and supports the importance of the department’s educational mission and recruitment of trainees.
