Employs training and experience in the various craft skills required to complete simple assignments and to assist in the performance of more highly skilled tasks. Sets up, adjusts, operates, and maintains shop tools (drill press and grinder). Occasionally operates electrode welder and oxygen and acetylene cutting and welding apparatus. Operates and maintains portable power tools and standard hand tools. Occasionally operates fork trucks. Employee works directly under the supervision of a MECHANICAL SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN C or higher. Occasionally operates electrode welder, acetylene torch, portable power tools, shop equipment, forklift, and other mobile equipment. Must successfully pass the company’s forklift, aerial work platform, and mobile crane operator’s test. Will be required to fill in as needed to fill vacancies on shift and may be required to rotate on shift.
