Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. <div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"> <div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"> Process Controls Engineer (NPI) (m/f/d) Location: Berlin, Germany Level: Senior / Expert (Individual Contributor) Purpose of the Position As a Process Controls Engineer (NPI) –, you are responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for semi-automated to full automated assembly equipment used in co-packaged optics (CPO) assembly. This role is embedded in the Technology and New Product Introduction (NPI) environment (R&D, focusing on prototype setups, pilot lines, and early-stage manufacturing systems where processes are still evolving and require fast iteration and validation. You act as the key interface between process development, system engineering, and prototype machine/setup execution, ensuring that assembly, alignment, and test processes are translated into flexible, robust, and scalable solutions. Your work enables the transition from R&D process concepts to stable, production-ready automation systems, supporting efficient scale-up and transfer to manufacturing or external automation partners.
