This position will support some or all of Corning Incorporated’s divisions. </span></p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Key Responsibilities</H2> </div><div><ul> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experience in successful development and delivery of first/next generation process machine systems through early stages of innovation and into manufacturing.</span></li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Strong interest and skills in mechanical design, with broad knowledge of materials, fabrication methods (machining, forming, molding etc.) assembly and joining methods, GD&T, tolerance stack ups/error budgets.</span></li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Knowledge in machine components such as slides, spindles, conveyance, handling and fixturing are desired.</span></li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Excellent understanding and recall of engineering fundamentals, and the ability to deploy those fundamentals into successful designs. Proposes solutions and/or invents, applies, develops, or extends a state-of-the-art technology.</span></li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experience with 3D CAD modeling (Solid Works preferred), and use of simulation modules to optimize designs and/or demonstrate feasibility (finite element, computational fluid dynamics etc.)</span></li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ability to work effectively in highly ambiguous situations.</span></li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Understand how to integrate commercially available technologies and processes such as robotics, material addition and removal, dispensing, and automation equipment into robust process manufacturing solutions.</span></li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Able to effectively leverage external machine builders and system integrators for detail design, build, and integration of later stages of machine system implementation.</span></li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ability to apply decision making and problem-solving skills to review facts and weigh options using a systematic approach to solve problems.</span></li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Influences peers, team(s), and management, and provides technical guidance.
