The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.</span></p><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"> <div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Purpose of Position: </strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Serve as a Sr. IMS Engineer within the Corning Optical Communications Division Engineering team, responsible for the design, deployment, and support of manufacturing and data systems. This role drives the introduction of new automation equipment, system integration, process improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives across global manufacturing sites.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Responsibilities:</span></strong><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Design, document, implement, and maintain essential Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for automated manufacturing equipment and manual processes</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Interface automated and manual manufacturing equipment with plant information systems (MES) and enterprise data platforms</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Provide appropriate and timely technical guidance and expertise related to SCADA and manufacturing data systems to ensure the operational reliability of SCADA systems, and ensure cybersecurity and data integrity best practices are followed</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Work with automation equipment vendors to design/document equipment interface specifications</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Solicit and document Voice of Customer from manufacturing sites to include in system design and continuous improvement</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Collaborate with Process engineering to determine and provide process data to data historians at appropriate time intervals</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Individual must be capable of executing project assignments, in a team-based environment, with minimal supervision.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Work Hours: </strong>Traditionally Mon-Fri 8:00AM-5:00PM (Must be flexible and available to work some afterhours and weekends, as required to support operational requirements)</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Travel Requirements:</strong> Up to 50%</span></p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Qualifications:</span></strong><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent. </span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of experience in SCADA development(Ignition, GE iFix, or similar) , Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, SQL)</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• 3+ years Experience integrating automated and manual manufacturing equipment with plant Information Management Systems (IMS)</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• 1+ year experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, MQTT, Etc.)</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Able to travel globally (Mexico, Poland, and China at a minimum) </span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Desired Skills:</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Advanced experience with Inductive Automation Ignition (Perspective, Vision, scripting)</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Ignition Gold certification</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Experience configuring Aveva PI System (Asset Framework, Event Frames, PI Vision), and with Siemens, Omron, and Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)</span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">• Bilingual English-Spanish</span></p> </div> </div><p> </p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><strong>This position does not support immigration sponsorship. </strong></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">The range for this position is $101,175.00 - $139,116.00 assuming full time status.
