The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.</span></p><p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Function/Dept Purpose Statement:</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">The Process Engineer – Fiber, Cable & Connectivity Solutions is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and scalable production of fiber, cable, and connectivity products. The role focuses on process standardization, yield improvement, defect reduction, and supporting new product introductions (NPI) while ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Position Responsibilities:</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Process Development & Optimization</strong></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Develop and maintain manufacturing processes for:</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Optical fiber, fiber optic cables, copper cables</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Connectivity products such as connectors, patch cords, harnesses, and assemblies</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Define process flow diagrams, work instructions, control plans, and SOPs.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Optimize processes to improve productivity, yield, and cost efficiency.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Establish and monitor critical process parameters and control limits.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong> </strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Quality & Compliance</strong></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Ensure processes meet product quality standards and customer specifications.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Drive defect reduction through root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA, and PFMEA.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Support audits and compliance to ISO, customer, and telecom standards.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Improve process capability (Cp, Cpk) and reduce scrap and rework.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>New Product & Process Introduction (NPI)</strong></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Support industrialization of new fiber, cable, or connectivity products.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Participate in equipment selection, tooling design, trials, and validation.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Lead pilot runs, process qualification, and ramp-up to mass production.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Ensure smooth transition from development to production.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Manufacturing Support</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Provide day-to-day process engineering support to production teams.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Troubleshoot process issues related to extrusion, stranding, jacketing, termination, polishing, testing, or assembly.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Collaborate with maintenance and automation teams for equipment reliability and improvements.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Support automation, digital manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Work closely with Production, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, and EHS teams.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Support customer interactions, trials, and technical discussions when required.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Coordinate with suppliers on materials, tooling, and process style="font-size:14.0pt">Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives to eliminate waste and variation.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Use data, SPC, and manufacturing processes and testing</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Root cause analysis and problem-solving</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Lean / Six Sigma Knowledge:</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Production, or Materials Engineering).</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">3–8 years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing engineering.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Experience in <strong>fiber optic, cable, wire, electronics, or connectivity product manufacturing</strong>.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems.</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Strong oral and written communication skills</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Strong Data Analysis skills (Control Charts, Pareto Analysis, Pivot Table) and Analytical mindset</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and/or as a team leader</span></li> <li style="font-size:14.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Technical aptitude conducive to building proficiency in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and evaluating
