As we continue to expand our Workplace Safety consulting services, we are seeking an experienced <strong>Independent Contractor with strong hands-on electrical field expertise</strong> to support Arc Flash, NFPA 70E, and other Electrical Safety projects.</div> <div> </div> <div>This opportunity is ideal for a <strong>Master Electrician, Electrical Contractor, or experienced Arc Flash specialist</strong> who brings real-world, field-based knowledge of electrical systems and safety practices. We are looking for someone who understands how work actually gets done on job sites and can translate NFPA 70E requirements into practical, actionable solutions for clients.</div> <div> </div> <div>This opportunity is for an Independent Contractor only and does not constitute an employment relationship. Independent Contractors must reside in the U.S. and be legally authorized to perform services within the United States.</div> <div> </div> <p><strong>To be considered as an Independent Contractor, individuals must:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Operate as an independent safety consulting business (e.g., sole proprietor, incorporated entity, or equivalent)</li> <li>Provide services to multiple clients and maintain a non-exclusive consulting practice</li> <li>Supply their own tools, methodologies, instructional materials, and business processes necessary to deliver services</li> <li>Be responsible for all taxes, insurance, and business-related expenses</li> <li>Provide their own computer, equipment, and tools necessary to perform services</li> <li>Maintain appropriate professional liability coverage, as required under the contractual agreement</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><em>Travel requirements vary based on client engagements, audit needs, and training delivery, and are defined by project or style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Type of Services Requested</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Perform <strong>arc flash assessment studies</strong> and supporting electrical system evaluations across a variety of industries</li> <li>Manage assigned projects from kickoff through completion, including coordination with customers</li> <li>Conduct <strong>on-site electrical system walkdowns</strong>, documenting: <ul> <li>Equipment configurations</li> <li>Conductor lengths and ampacities</li> <li>Overcurrent protective devices</li> </ul> </li> <li>Review field data and existing documentation to support study development and project scope</li> <li>Perform <strong>arc flash, short circuit, and coordination studies</strong> (with focus on interpretation and application of results)</li> <li>Conduct <strong>arc flash hazard analysis, labeling, and compliance reviews</strong></li> <li>Deliver <strong>practical, hands-on NFPA 70E / arc flash training</strong> to client personnel</li> <li>Perform electrical safety audits and gap analyses, including report creation and communication of findings</li> <li>Identify <strong>electrical code and safety compliance issues</strong> (NEC/NFPA based)</li> <li>Develop arc flash deliverables including: <ul> <li>Arc flash labels</li> <li>Single-line diagrams</li> <li>Recommendations to reduce incident energy and improve worker safety</li> </ul> </li> <li>Serve as a <strong>subject matter expert (SME)</strong> supporting internal teams and client engagements</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Qualifications</b></H2> </div><div><div><strong>Education / Credentials</strong></div> <ul> <li><strong>Master Electrician license strongly preferred</strong></li> <li>Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP) desired</li> <li>PE certification considered but <strong>not required</strong></li> </ul> <div> </div> <div><strong>Required Experience</strong></div> <ul> <li>Strong <strong>hands-on electrical field experience</strong> in commercial or industrial environments</li> <li><strong>Must be able to independently complete arc flash assessment studies</strong> from data collection through final deliverables</li> <li>Practical experience applying <strong>NFPA 70E requirements in real-world settings</strong></li> <li>Experience conducting <strong>electrical system assessments, troubleshooting, installation, or maintenance</strong></li> <li>Experience working directly with clients in field, consulting, or project-based environments</li> <li>Ability to translate technical requirements into <strong>clear, actionable safety guidance</strong></li> </ul> <div> </div> <div><strong>Preferred Experience</strong></div> <ul> <li>Experience working as a <strong>Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, or Electrical Contractor</strong></li> <li>Experience supporting or implementing <strong>NFPA 70E programs</strong>, including labeling and PPE assessments</li> <li>Background delivering <strong>electrical safety or arc flash training</strong></li> <li>Familiarity with <strong>lockout/tagout (LOTO), energized work permits, and safe work practices</strong></li> <li>Experience in <strong>manufacturing, construction, utilities, or multi-site operations</strong></li> <li>Previous consulting or client-facing experience in <strong>safety, compliance, or electrical services</strong></li> <li>Experience developing or reviewing <strong>single-line diagrams and electrical drawings</strong></li> <li>Exposure to <strong>large or complex electrical distribution systems</strong></li> </ul> <div> </div> <div><strong>Other Skills / Qualifications</strong></div> <ul> <li>Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)</li> <li>Ability to engage effectively with field personnel, supervisors, and leadership</li> <li>Working knowledge of <strong>NFPA 70E and NEC standards</strong></li> <li>Proficiency in MS Office or similar tools for reporting and deliverables</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple projects and client expectations</li> <li>Maintains a high level of regulatory and technical expertise</li> <li>Ability to legally operate a motor
