Seed Technician As a Seed Technician you will focus on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production. Operate machines or equipment, setting up and adjusting factors such as temperature, pressure, flow, and material reactions. Manually controls the unit or operates it via a control system. Clean and decontaminate equipment. Maintain housekeeping of the workplace. Drive forklifts. Conduct routine analytics and take samples. Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs with the technical team. Document and communicate work results during shift handovers. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of this role, Seed Technician (Lubbock, TX) are: <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Operating machinery / equipment for production processes and, where applicable, managing our production grower network;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Responsible for ensuring that production processes happen safely, effectively, and with quality in alignment with general procedures of the area;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Expected to mentor / train new employees, perform basic maintenance of equipment, and handle basic activities in Bayer systems (SAP and electronic networks);</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Demonstrate Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach (VACC) behaviors to ensure accuracy, quality and timely delivery of products;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Operate equipment and execute tasks to enable seed production processes.;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Lead and engage in Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings; articulate shift objectives and allocate resources across all active production areas;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Demonstrate collaboration and teamwork in coaching / training seasonal workforce, area trainees, and peers; contribute to overall team success and the personal development teammates;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Perform preventive maintenance and inspections;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Troubleshoot problems associated with equipment, processes, and systems;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Apply operational excellence practices to operations (5S, Lean, Six Sigma, 5WHYs);</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Perform Site Responsible Researcher (SRR) duties ensuring adherence to stewardship processes and protocols that are completed accurately and timely. This includes field monitoring, grower communication and accurate documentation;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Ensure upstream activities (e.g., field inspection, grower contract) are handled within company standards and business requirements;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Collaborate with key partners to deliver the business across plant and field operations;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Comply with internal procedures and support legal compliance related to area activities;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Bayer’s Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Support administrative procedures, documenting key readings, maintenance orders and production information;</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Deliver other responsibilities as the business needs;</li> </ul> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;color:black">Position entails driving a company vehicle (pooled or assigned to the individual). Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
