Automation Technician, Farmer City, IL YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of this role, Automation Technician-Farmer City, IL, are to: Co-create and maintain the automated control system and maintenance processes with regional engineers and the production team to ensure maximum plant availability; Cultivate partnership within the site, and across the automation network to support training and drive continuous improvement in this space; Share ownership in delivering the highest quality outcome for our customers; Demonstrate Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach (VACC) behaviors to ensure accuracy, quality and timely delivery of products; Monitor Autonomous Maintenance activities, effectively gather feedback from operators and provide guidance to the team on system enhancements; Organize and execute daily activities in the area, monitor production execution and review reports from analytical systems for any abnormalities; Actively participate in meeting the commitments of the Policy and the Objectives of Quality, Safety, Health and Environment to comply with internal procedures and assist in meeting the legal requirements applicable to its activities; Contribute to the success of maintaining and improving system controls for Compliance needs; Conduct interlock tests, troubleshoot control system issues, develop and retrofit equipment to reduce downtime and maintain the reliability of data transfer systems; Use innovative problem-solving techniques in initiating process improvement to eliminate losses and reduce variation in the production processand equipment settings; Understanding of business IT strategy and affect on site infrastructure; Apply operational excellence practices to operations (5S, Lean, Six Sigma, Problem Solving); Keep metrics and relevant information up-to-date invisual management frameworks to conduct teamwork and facilitate tier meetings; Share ownership with employees across the site and handle basic activities in IT systems (SAP, maintenance connection, and electronic networks); Demonstrate collaboration and teamwork in coaching / training technicians, area trainees, and peers; contribute to overall team success and the personal development of teammates; Deliver other responsibilities as the business needs; WHO YOU ARE Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical Training in Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechatronics Instrumentation and Electrical Equipment, Logical Controls, Programmable Industrial automation; Knowledge of Regulatory Standards, especially NFPA 70; Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of applicable experience; Bachelor's degree; Knowledge of Robotics; Technical college diploma and/or related technical certification; Experience using of SAP and PLC; Employees can expect to be paid a hourly between $37.12 - $39.37. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This hourly range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
