The Shelly Company is known throughout the industry for innovation, quality and for our commitment to safety. <div> </div>Position Overview A crushing plant operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, bins, etc., to ensure the safe and efficient production of crushed materials like aggregates. This includes tasks like operating machinery and fixed assets, helping with performing necessary maintenance, and adhering to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Operating Machinery: <ul materials within the plant.</li> </ul> Maintenance and Repair: <ul style="margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 0.0px;text-align:justify;line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Performing routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 0.0px;text-align:justify;line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Identifying and reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance policies.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 0.0px;text-align:justify;line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Conducting daily pre-shift safety workplace exams.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 0.0px;text-align:justify;line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Reporting any safety hazards or accidents immediately.</li> </ul> Documentation and Reporting: <ul style="margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 0.0px;text-align:justify;line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Maintaining records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and safety inspections.</li> <li maintenance schedules.</li> </ul> Other Duties: <ul style="margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 0.0px;text-align:justify;line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Assisting with other plant tasks as needed, such as cleaning or general maintenance.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 0.0px;text-align:justify;line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Receiving and processing incoming materials.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 0.0px;text-align:justify;line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Preparing materials for crushing, such as using a hammer.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 0.0px;text-align:justify;line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Checking stockpiles and ensuring the required quality.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 0.0px;text-align:justify;line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Managing metallic materials recovered from the plant.</li> </ul> Other Education and Experience Less than or equal to a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior Heavy Equipment experience, including Crushing Operation helpful. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Personal Protective Equipment Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position: Welding Gloves, Hard Hat, Hearing Protection, Padlocks for Lockout/Tagout, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, use of Seatbelt and harnesses when required.
