Groundskeeper
Position Description: Performs moderately heavy manual work in the care and maintenance of grounds including the care and maintenance of plants, shrubs, lawns, and the installation and maintenance of sprinkler systems.

Major/Essential Functions: • Performs maintenance, operation and repair work on irrigation, sprinkler systems, irrigation controllers and application of fertilizers. • Installs and upkeep landscaping plants, shrubs and trees. • Performs housekeeping activities on sidewalks, parking lots, building entrances, patios and all exterior ground areas. • May perform parking lot markings if required. • Prepares and submits work documentation, to include work order submission, changes made to landscaping system (e.g.controls). • Ensures documentation is prepared and submitted with accuracy in WebTMA. • Works with other trades and maintenance staff to complete maintenance and installation of other building systems. • Responds to emergency calls during business hours, after hours, holidays and weekends to help in mitigating or eliminating the problem (fire alarms, emergency calls, trouble alarms. Following troubleshooting guidelines in accordance with existing procedures and routines). • Responsible for keeping all work areas, equipment and tools clean and in working conditions • Performs all preventive maintenance on assigned systems and equipment. • Actively participates in training offered by the Institution, PPSS Department and contracted. • Must have and maintain valid State of Texas Driver's License and be listed as an approved driver as determined by Risk Management and insurance carrier. • Must be able to pass the employee Criminal Background Check. • Remain current with all licensures, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position. • Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.). • Personally, and consistently, demonstrate, display and act in accordance with Texas Tech Health El Paso’s Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Preferred Qualifications: • Journeyman level experience is preferred. • Apprentice and vocational training will be considered.
Pay Statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.
