About the Role Join our Database as a Service (DBaaS) team and help build, operate, and improve a core platform used across Swiss Re. We provide secure, stable, and easy-to-use database services with a strong focus on automation and self-service capabilities, supporting both private and public cloud environments. We are looking for a hands-on Database Engineer who enjoys working with enterprise database platforms and is interested in automation, reliability, and continuous improvement. You will work as part of an experienced and collaborative engineering team responsible for Oracle and PostgreSQL database platforms. The role combines database engineering, operations, automation, and modernization activities, contributing to reliable and scalable services used across the organization. Operational on-call coverage is limited (approximately once every two months and decreasing as the team grows) and applies only to high-priority incidents. The team follows a "you build it, you run it" philosophy and continuously strives to automate operational activities wherever possible.
