Support Engineer @ National Institute of Electronics (NIE)

Job Specification: ------------------- - Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. - Set up and manage network devices, VLANs, and subnetting according to company policies. - Provide technical support to diagnose and resolve network issues related to connectivity, performance, or security. - Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS). - Perform regular network security audits and ensure compliance with organizational and industry security standards. - Plan, schedule, and perform regular network maintenance, firmware updates, and hardware upgrades. - Assist with disaster recovery planning and backup management to ensure network data is recoverable in case of failure. - Track computer system issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits. - Follow up with users to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting - Prepare accurate and timely reports - Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments - Additional certification in Microsoft, Linux, Cisco or similar technologies. Qualification: --------------- - MS/BS/M.Sc Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, IT, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or relevant field with minimum 03 years of experience in operation and maintenance of local networks and computer systems.
