About this role

Are you passionate about supporting student welfare in medical education? Would you be interested in an opportunity to contribute and influence the strategic development of how students raise patient safety concerns within a Medical School? If so, this may be an opportunity for you!

For successful candidate’s the school will benchmark to the appropriate NHS pay scale, clinical discipline and grade if in clinical practice. This is to be discussed as part of the interview process.

As Senior Lecturer in Student Support and students raising concerns you can expect to be involved in:

Contributing to and influencing the development of our “students raising concerns” process throughout the KMMS BMBS programme, ensuring that that students are supported, clinical trusts are supported and that the process satisfies GMC requirements Supporting KMMS faculty and placement-based supervisors in understanding how stdents can promote and maintain patient safety Devising, developing and delivering pastoral support to all students to facilitate academic success and personal growth Contributing to and influencing preparations for effective internal and external academic quality and governance processes and systems, including those associated with professional, statutory and regulatory bodies

What will you bring to the role?

A primary and postgraduate degree in a medical specialty or in a subject closely related to the KMMS BMBS programme Experience of successful pastoral student support Experience and understanding of guiding faculty & healthcare professional to facilitate student success Understanding of current issues in undergraduate medical education Experience of and commitment to academic leadership and management
