Hartley Brook Primary Academy is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 1 team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in supporting pupils at an important stage in their learning journey.

Working closely with teachers and wider staff, you will help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence and develop independence in a nurturing and inclusive environment. You will contribute to a positive and engaging classroom, supporting both academic progress and emotional wellbeing, while building strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging fully in learning activitiesWork with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and promote independenceAssist in the implementation of Personal Provision Plans and monitor pupil progressPrepare classroom resources, materials and displays to support teaching and learningPromote positive behaviour and support pupils’ emotional wellbeingWork collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to meet pupils’ individual needsParticipate in playground duties and enrichment or extracurricular activitiesWhat we are looking for:Experience working with or caring for children, ideally in an educational settingA good understanding of child development and effective learning strategiesA patient, adaptable and inclusive approach to supporting all pupilsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and familiesRelevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning)A genuine passion for helping children succeed and thriveWhat we offer:A supportive, welcoming and inclusive school environmentOpportunities for professional development and career progression within Astrea Academy TrustAccess to a wide range of high-quality CPD and wellbeing initiativesThe opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a school that truly values its pupils and staff
