Ward 8 is a busy acute medical ward with 21 beds specialising in diabetes/endocrine. The staff nurse is responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. You will supervise junior staff and participate in the teaching of students, TNAs, and Cadets. Maintaining your own personal and professional development is essential to this role.

Assess patient needs and plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality nursing care Teach and guide students on basic and post-basic courses Commit to ongoing professional development Use resources effectively to ensure excellent patient outcomes Work in line with the NMC Professional Code of Conduct Join us and help shape the future of care--one patient, one moment, one life at a time.

Proven post registration experience is required for this role.

Main duties of the job

Ward 8 is a busy acute medical ward with 21 beds specialising in diabetes/endocrine. The staff nurse is responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. You will supervise junior staff and participate in the teaching of students, TNAs, and Cadets. Maintaining your own personal and professional development is essential to this role. This a rotational post between W8 days and nights.

The unit is supported by a highly experienced team of physicians who work closely with nursing staff.

Main duties:

Act as the team leader for a designated group of patients Report all accidents and untoward incidents, ensuring relevant documentation is completed Undertake delegated responsibilities from the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse Promote the safety, well-being and interests of patients, staff and visitors on the unit Be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care.

Assist in developing an environment that supports the value of nursing care.

Carry out clinical duties in accordance with National, Trust and local standards and policies.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Professional Registration Essential

Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Part 1 Adult / General Level 1 or 2) Degree / Diploma in Nursing studies or equivalent

Desirable

Interest in Diabetes / Endocrine

Knowledge, Training & Experience Essential

Previous NHS experience To demonstrate and interest in the speciality Good communication skills (written and verbal) IT To demonstrate the ability to work within a team To demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care. To ensure quality care whilst maintaining patient flow Proven post-registration experience

Worked as a nurse for the NHS
