The Imaging Department St Bartholomew's Hospital, Barts Health have an exciting career development opportunity to become a Band 7 Xray/CT Clinical specialist Radiographer in our team.
Imaging services across Barts Health are transitioning to a new model of work, recruiting more staff to drive the quality of care delivered by Radiography across all sites. Our vision is to support staff to work to the top of their licence, nurturing skills through training and mentorship to realise a workforce that provides outstanding care for our patients now and in the future.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is excited about providing high quality patient care within a close-knit and supportive team environment.
Main duties of the job

The post holder will be able to establish credibility with stakeholders across a number of specialties and relate well with clinical and non-clinical teams, be patient focussed with excellent communication skills.
This is a key role within the Imaging Department, the post holder will have a pivotal role in supporting the service to meet its activity and quality improvement priorities, diagnostic and cancer performance standards and strategic development of the service.
This will be a challenging but rewarding role and we welcome Radiographers with the desire to stretch their leadership skills and enhance their prospects for career progression.

Qualifications Essential
oBSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers, or equivalents oHealth and Care Professions Council Registration oEvidence of career-long commitment to CPD
Desirable
oStudent Clinical Assessors Course oCollege of Radiographers accredited IV cannulation course oPostgraduate study in a relevant area
Experience Essential
oCT and/or Interventional Radiography experience oUp to date knowledge of general imaging techniques oAble to work unsupervised oAwareness of clinical governance issues in relation to patient care oUnderstanding of factors affecting service throughput and quality oCompletion of preceptorship oLeadership and mentoring experience
Desirable
oPrevious experience as Band 7 radiographer oExperience of training staff and students oDemonstrates ongoing CPD.
Knowledge/Skills Essential
oClinical and technical expert in CT/ Xray modality oAbility to work as part of a team oAbility to teach and mentor students, more junior staff and new members of staff. oAbility to cope with work pressures and manage time effectively oAbility to cope with conflict and complaints at local level commensurate with Trust policies oAbility to make prompt decisions based on knowledge, experience and circumstances oAbility to work using own initiative but also to know when to seek assistance and guidance. oBasic computer and keyboard skills oKeep all records up to date in a clear, accurate and concise manner on a day-to-day basis oSelf-motivated with an ability to motivate others oAble to work flexibly based on needs of service.

Communication Essential
