Job summary Whipps Cross University Hospital Trust Doctor (ST1-2 equivalent) in Geriatric Medicine Fixed Term 12 months
Our OPS (Older People's Services) team is growing, and we would like you to be a part of our fantastic workforce. We are advertising for a 12-month fixed term Trust Doctor (ST1-2 equivalent) to sit within the department of Older People's Services. The post will cover a range of areas within the department including the older peoples' assessment unit (OPAU), the virtual ward, surgical liaison, orthogeriatrics and older peoples wards in general as soon as possible.
You must hold a current full registration with the General Medical Council and have experience across a broad range of Medical Subspecialties. MRCP part 1 is essential for this post.
Main duties of the job
Whipps Cross Hospital serves a local population with a high degree of frailty and within the Barts Health Group is being re-developed to be a centre of excellence for Geriatric Medicine. The department provides for a broad spectrum of sub-specialtyareas including Frailty, Acute Geriatrics, Ortho-Geriatrics, Surgical Liaison, Psychiatry Liaison, outpatients, and Comprehensive GeriatricAssessment Clinics and rehabilitation medicine.The department regularly sees a rich mixture of pathology and complex psycho-social issues. The local population contains a significant level of frailty with high rates of dementia and associated delirium.
