We have an exciting opportunity for applications from enthusiastic individuals to work within our main Theatres recovery area as a Senior Operating Department Practitioner / Senior Theatre Practitioners' undertaking post anaesthetic nursing care skills and airway management roles.
We are looking for Theatre Practitioners, Registered Nurses / Operating Department Practitioners for full time positions, however part time would be considered.
Theatres are fast paced environments where a positive attitude, energy and innovation are welcomed. As a team leader you will be expected to deliver high standards of perioperative care, and have the ability to support and develop your own skills and facilitate / support and develop the team to provide excellent patient care within the department.
We ask that applicants have a minimum of 2 years' experience at band 5 in theatre and post anaesthetic care ,can demonstrate leadership skills and qualities. You will be expected to lead a team in theatre recovery and at times the department.
Main duties of the job
We require you to have excellent post anaesthetic nursing care skills, airway managementand leadership skills, the successful candidates will work across Monday to Saturday with long day shifts according to the area of work.In turn, we can offer you a structured preceptorship and induction programme for all new members of staff, plus access to on-going continuing professional education and development, appraisal and clinical supervision.Please understand that although this position is at County hospital we are one hospital with Royal Stoke and you may-be required to work there on occasion.
Senior theatre practitioner will need to take responsibility for the smooth running of the theatre recovery area , supporting the team in theatre. There may be occasions' when you would be required to work outside of your specific speciality specialities.
