Job summary

Working Part time: Variety of Shift Patterns Available

We have permanent positions for hardworking, motivated individuals to join the Domestic Services Team at The Countess of Chester Hospital. The vacancies are for the following shifts working:-

Monday to Friday - 5am until 8am, 7:30am til 1pm

Saturday and Sunday - 7:30am til 1pm and 1pm til 5pm

These posts are designed to assist with providing a full range of cleaning duties, 7 days a week in a hospital/healthcare environment.

The domestic department maintains very high standards. After completing full training, the successful candidates will be expected to carry out the full range of domestic duties. These include cleaning bathrooms, toilets, ward areas, emptying bins, replenishing soap dispensers, hand towels and sanitisers.

Main duties of the job

The safe removal of domestic and clinical waste from waste bins in conjunction with specified procedures ensuring correct colour liners are replaced. Responsible for identifying areas to be cleaned, plan and organise a cleaning programme with the Domestic Supervisor ensuring Patient, Staff and Visitor safety is not compromised. The cleaning of the ward/health care environment as laid down in National Standards of Cleaning and the Frequencies The cleaning of all-sanitary areas and other ward equipment, e.g. baths, toilets, washbasins, showers and sluice sinks Regularly checking sanitary areas throughout the day. Cleaning kitchen areas, sinks, work tops, cupboards, drawers, cookers refrigerators and ice machines.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust employs 5,964 staff (headcount) to provide care and treatment to a population of over 400,000 people living in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire. Person Specification

Knowlege and Experience Essential

Enjoys working as part of a team. Cleaning experience

Desirable

Knowledge of COSHH and the NHS colour coding system Knowledge of Infection Prevention & Control in a Healthcare setting

Qualifications Essential

Numeracy and literacy skills, a basic standard of education. Commitment to inhouse induction and training on cleaning procedures
