The opportunity
As R&D Structural Engineer, you will join our Global Multi-Physics Simulation (GLOMUS) network team in the Technology Center of HITACHI-Energy. You will be part of a group of key people with specific expertise in the fields of electrical, structural, acoustic, thermo-mechanic and fluid-dynamics analyses, simulation and testing. As part of our global R&D community including Technology Centers and Research Centers worldwide, you will contribute to support all factories in the PG Dry, Traction and Distribution Transformers on innovative and challenging research projects. You will focus on developing new technologies and products, optimizing existing ones and on supporting different engineering offices around the world.
How you'll make an impact
Finite Element simulation of structures subject to all types of static and dynamic loads (fatigue, impulsive, short-circuit, seismic, etc.)Develop new automations for the structural, thermomechanical and acoustic assessment of productsRun feasibility studies, develop new technical concepts, design new products and simulate their expected performancesOrganize prototyping and testing activities to validate new technologies/productsLead product and technology development projects in the field of Dry, Traction and Oil Distribution Transformer, delivering results on time and on budget at agreed scope and qualitySupport the transfer of technology and knowledge from R&D to engineering department by writing design rules, preparing trainings and collaborating with design tools teamProvide technical support to other departments when needed (engineering, product management, marketing and sales etc.)Living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
