Our Neurodevelopmental Division is one of our largest and fastest-growing services, providing ADHD, autism and related assessments and support for adults and children.
We are recruiting a Service Manager to provide operational leadership across the neurodevelopmental portfolio. Working closely with clinical leads, you will oversee service delivery, capacity and demand management, and ensure achievement of quality, performance, financial and contractual targets.

Main duties of the job
Run the day-to-day operations of the neurodevelopmental services (adult and children's ADHD, autism and related), developing detailed expert knowledge of the portfolio and delegating to admin team leaders. Proactively manage capacity and demand using clinic data, keeping within waiting-time KPIs and minimising wasted slots. Work with clinical leads on rotas, risks and issues, and embed effective communication channels (weekly meetings, MDTs with standardised agendas and data packs). Develop and maintain SOPs and support the rollout and monitoring of digital/automated pathways. Act as a key point of contact for external parties (clinical workforce, referring practices, PCNs, ICBs, trusts, community children's services, VCSEs) and prepare weekly operational reports.

Governance and quality
Embed legal/regulatory requirements and prioritise CQC compliance in everyday delivery, supporting inspection readiness. Lead investigations into complaints, incidents and significant events (with governance support), and maintain risk and issues logs. Ensure compliance with confidentiality, data protection and information governance.
Staff management / HR
Line-manage administrative teams and support clinical/AHP staff, including recruitment, induction, training, appraisals and PDRs. Handle complex employee-relations matters (sickness, performance) and manage monthly payroll updates with the payroll team.
Projects and business development
Contribute to project groups and support the mobilisation of new neurodevelopmental contracts. Support service evaluations, audits and reviews as required.
Communications and engagement
Promote Modality's community and private services and keep external information accurate and up to date (e.g. NHS e-Referral Service, website pages). Build effective relationships with commissioners and key stakeholders.

Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area Evidence of continuous professional development
Knowledge Essential
A minimum of 2 years operational management experience in a NHS/private healthcare setting Significant experience of managing teams and line management Experience in service redesign and project management Experience of presenting complex data/information to staff at all levels and persuading people to make changes based on this information Understanding of the role of NHS bodies such as ICBs, PCNs, acute and community providers, CQC and NHS England Experience of developing policies, pathways and standard operating procedures Experience and understanding of governance systems and processes including CQC compliance MS Word/Outlook/Excel and other software packages Excellent organisational skills Ability to produce error free and well-presented reports demonstrating a high level of accuracy
