We are seeking an experienced senior leader to oversee organisational performance, contract management and service delivery. Reporting to the Interim Managing Director, you will work closely with executive, finance, operational and clinical teams, as well as commissioners, to ensure contracts are delivered in line with national policy, local requirements and performance standards.
The role includes NHS contract management, performance improvement, RTT oversight, service mobilisation, patient-level tracking and commissioner reporting. You will play a key role in strengthening performance, supporting service development and ensuring contractual obligations are consistently achieved.

Main duties of the job
This is a senior leadership role responsible for organisational performance, contract management and programme delivery across Modality LLP.
Working alongside the Interim Managing Director and Executive Partner, you will provide leadership for the organisation's contracting and performance function, ensuring services are delivered in line with contractual requirements, commissioner expectations and organisational objectives.
You will have oversight of contract performance, access standards, operational delivery and reporting arrangements across a diverse portfolio of NHS and private healthcare services. The role will support strategic decision-making through effective performance management, robust governance and the provision of high-quality information and insight.
You will develop productive relationships with commissioners, provider organisations and internal stakeholders, supporting service improvement, contract compliance and sustainable organisational growth.
The role requires strong leadership, analytical and communication skills, together with the ability to manage complex contractual arrangements and drive continuous improvement across services.

The postholder will be primarily responsible for:
Developing and maintaining a structured contract management framework, ensuring contractual obligations, reporting requirements and key milestones are monitored and delivered effectively.
Producing and coordinating commissioner submissions, contract reviews, exception reports and performance narratives, ensuring information is accurate, timely and aligned to contractual requirements.
Establishing and maintaining governance, assurance and escalation processes to identify risks, monitor delivery and support corrective action where required.
Providing expert advice to the Executive Team and operational leads on contractual obligations, commissioning guidance, NHS policy changes and associated organisational impacts.
Supporting contract negotiations, service variations and business development opportunities through analysis, modelling and contractual advice.
Leading and coordinating improvement projects relating to access standards, productivity, patient pathways, mobilisation activity and service performance.
Working with business intelligence, operational and finance colleagues to develop reporting tools, dashboards and performance information that support decision-making and service planning.
Ensuring lessons learned, audit findings and performance reviews are translated into practical improvement plans and embedded across services.
Supporting the development of organisational capability in performance management, contract compliance and commissioner engagement.
Contributing to strategic planning processes through the provision of performance intelligence, forecasting and contract-related insight.
The postholder will need to demonstrate a minimum of five years' NHS contracting and/or performance experience, detailed working knowledge of the NHS Standard Contract and current commissioning landscape, and experience of managing projects, teams and complex stakeholder relationships.
