Job summary
This is a full-time fixed term Consultant Physician & Geriatrician post, joining an existing establishment of Physicians in the Medicine and Emergency Care Division. The post will suit someone with ambition and drive to provide & develop high-quality inpatient & outpatient services in the Trust.
The successful candidate will appreciate the importance of Consultant Geriatrician presence from the front door and across the pathway and have the skills to work on the Acute Frailty Unit, frailty Same Day Emergency Care, inpatient beds or in the Emergency Department where this is the best option for the patient.
Whilst applicants will be expected to have completed Higher Specialist Training or have a CESR in General (Internal) Medicine, the latter is not a mandatory requirement for taking up this fixed term post. The Division are seeking a candidate with a specialist interest in Geriatric Medicine.
It is envisaged that the appointee will bring experience which will complement and strengthen acute care at the Royal, and we are able to adapt the role to incorporate a developing or established clinical interest for the right candidate.
