Overview Lead and oversee the product portfolio management team, driving the identification, development, and delivery of end-to-end technology solutions that align with business objectives and priorities. The Senior Manager is a people leader role, leading and overseeing portfolio management and business agility functions and leading people leaders and individual contributors. Responsible for driving the evolution of lean portfolio management, business agility, and product management practices across the organization to help realize enterprise vision and strategy. Partners closely with business, product, process, and technology leaders to improve strategic sequencing, lending portfolio transparency, prioritization, and delivery effectiveness across complex cross-functional initiatives. Mature lean portfolio management practices by strengthening portfolio governance, strategic decision enablement including trade-offs, and executive transparency. Facilitate the transformation to agile delivery models and enable cross-functional teams to integrate business capabilities. Serves as a strategic partner, fostering collaboration, organizational alignment, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Act as a key liaison between business units and technology teams, ensuring alignment of product strategy and organizational goals.
Responsibilities
Advance lean portfolio management practices that improve strategic sequencing, prioritization transparency, and executive decision readinessLead and mature the business agility / agile coaching practice across cross-functional teamsDrive the evolution of product management practices from project-centric toward product and business capabilitiesPartner with business, product, and technology leaders to align portfolio delivery with organizational outcomes and member valueAdvance organizational portfolio governance and product management maturity through coaching, governance alignment, and operating model improvementsLead cross-departmental, multi-functional teams to deliver on product portfolio objectives and business outcomesPartner with product owners, business leaders, and senior stakeholders to execute product strategy and drive superior resultsOversee the development and maintenance of product roadmaps, backlogs, and performance metrics to ensure alignment with business goalsCultivate a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team and across partner groupsManage financial planning, resource allocation, and operational data for the product portfolio, ensuring compliance with organizational standardsFacilitate the adoption of modern IT practices (eg, Agile, DevOps, Continuous Integration/Deployment) and champion change management initiativesBuild and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including business units, technology teams, and external partnersMonitor industry trends, innovation efforts, and regulatory changes, communicating relevant information to team members and leadershipSupport strategic planning, information security goals, and enterprise initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectivesCoach, mentor, and develop team members, supporting succession planning and workforce strategyPresent findings, recommendations, and progress updates to senior management and key stakeholdersEnsure effective communication and escalation of risks, impediments, and operational concernsGuide and analyze benchmarking, trend analysis, and other input to drive continuous improvement and elevate service performanceLead and participate in large, multidisciplinary projects and initiatives, providing consulting expertise and guidance from conceptualization to implementationFacilitate alignment and understanding of information technology impact and business decisions across business unitsIdentify and recommend opportunities to improve efficiency and process improvement, bringing external perspective and ideas from relevant sourcesSupport the marketing and communication strategies to promote new team brand and product portfolio practiceEnsure compliance with organizational standards, practices, and processesPerform supervisory/managerial responsibilities and other duties as assigned Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (Master's degree preferred)Experience leading lean portfolio transformation and/or business product operating model evolution in a large enterprise environmentStrong understanding of lean portfolio management, product management, business agility, and capability-based planning practicesExperience influencing organizational change across business and technology organizationsDemonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, evolving, and highly matrixed environmentsProven ability to develop and implement product strategies, roadmaps, and performance metricsExperience working directly with technical teams in an agile software development environmentStrong relationship-building, negotiation, and facilitation skills with internal and external stakeholdersAdvanced analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills; ability to use data and metrics to drive decisionsEffective communicator, able to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences and influence outcomesExperience in financial planning, resource management, and operational oversightDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentKnowledge of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in product and portfolio managementExperience with change management, process improvement, and adoption of modern IT practicesSignificant experience supervising and leading professional employeesAbility to articulate leading business issues and trends, including associated technology implicationsExperience in building consensus and delivering processes and frameworks that support alignment between stakeholders across an enterprise Desired Qualifications
