Location: Duchy House , Strand with occasional travel to Vernon Square, near Kings Cross (at least one day per week)
The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UK’s leading institution for teaching and research in the History of Art and the conservation of paintings and is also home to one of the finest small art galleries in the world.
The Courtauld is transitioning through a major capital transformation project and will be continuing over the next five-year period to transform its estate that will make The Courtauld’s world-class artworks, research and teaching accessible to more people – in the UK and internationally.
The Courtauld is looking to recruit an Accommodation Manager to be responsible for delivering a new residential Accommodation Strategy, managing our Hall of Residence (Duchy House) and supporting our students with sourcing and securing accommodation in other Halls and the private sector. You will be responsible for ensuring Duchy House is managed efficiently to provide a positive residential experience for students. For the summer period, you will be responsible for letting and manage the accommodation to commercial guests.
Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Develop and implement accommodation strategy and oversee daily operations of Duchy House. Manage student accommodation processes, including applications, allocations, and liaison with external providers. Maintain and update accommodation resources, such as webpages, handbooks, and licences, while providing advice to students. Optimise occupancy and revenue during commercial letting periods and support health and safety compliance.
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to liaise effectively across diverse groups. Relevant experience or qualifications in student housing or hospitality, plus strong organisational, IT, and administrative skills. Knowledge of accommodation and marketing principles, including London housing market and UUK Code (desirable). Flexible, proactive approach, able to work independently or in a small team, including occasional evenings/weekends.
