This is more than a front desk role you'll be a key part of ensuring people feel supported from the moment they access our services.

About the role
You'll be the first point of contact for patients, carers, and visitors, providing a warm, professional, and understanding welcome. You'll help manage appointments, respond to enquiries, and support the smooth running of our mental health services.
Every day will be different, and your role will have a positive impact on people who may be feeling vulnerable or in need of support.

Experience in a receptionist or customer-facing role is helpful, but not essential well provide full training.

The Receptionist will support our Primary Care Mental Health Team, and when required other Service Facilitators, in the delivery of STHC services and programmes across South Tyneside.
The role includes managing front desk duties, ensuring appointments are carefully coordinated, maintaining appointment systems, and welcoming patients in a professional and friendly manner. You will be responsible for registering patients and booking them in with the most appropriate clinicians, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient journey.

Qualifications Essential
Good standard of general education (e.g. GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths) Willingness to undertake training
Desirable
NVQ Level 2/3 in Business Administration or Customer Service (Equivalent) Training in customer care, mental health awareness
Experience Essential
Experience of working in a receptionist, administrative or customer facing role. Experience of dealing with members of the public in a professional environment Experience of handling confidential and sensitive information

Experience of Primary Care Experience of EMIS Web Clinical System
Other Essential
