About this role
Responsibilities
Role Overview This role is responsible for leading end-to-end energy and power strategy across a portfolio of data center assets in EMEA, ensuring reliable, cost-efficient, and sustainable power supply through utility engagement, market analysis, PPA structuring, and lifecycle energy optimization across greenfield and brownfield developments.
Responsibilities - Utility & Grid Due Diligence - Lead utility, grid, and external power due diligence for site selection, acquisition, and expansion across EMEA markets; evaluate grid capacity, interconnection feasibility, transmission constraints, and regulatory frameworks; assess long-term energy availability risks. - Energy Supply & Lifecycle Power Management - Manage data center energy supply planning across full lifecycle (reservation, interconnection, permitting, energization, commissioning, and operational stability); oversee load growth planning aligned with utility constraints. - Power Procurement & PPA Strategy - Lead electricity procurement strategy including structured energy sourcing and long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs); negotiate with utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), and renewable energy providers across EMEA. - Renewable Energy & Carbon Strategy - Develop and execute renewable energy sourcing strategies to support corporate carbon neutrality and ESG objectives; identify and structure renewable energy opportunities (wind, solar, hydro, nuclear-backed grids). - Market, Policy & Regulatory Intelligence - Conduct ongoing analysis of EMEA energy markets, pricing dynamics, and regulatory developments; monitor energy policy shifts impacting grid access, renewable mandates, and carbon pricing. - Energy Optimization & Cost Management - Drive lifecycle energy cost optimization, including tariff structure analysis and demand response opportunities; support financial modeling for energy-related CapEx and OpEx planning.
