Would you like a career in the NHS? This job will provide an entry level position for the right person into both operational delivery and the NHS.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Dermatology Support Co-ordinator to join our growing team. You'll need to be organised, proactive and passionate about delivering excellent patient care though outstanding administrative support.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting patients through their healthcare journey within a busy and evolving Dermatology Service.

As a central member of the team, you will coordinate appointments, support patient pathways, manage clinical information and work closely with clinicians, nurses and operational colleagues to ensure patients receive timely care.

Main duties of the job What You'll Be Doing

As a Dermatology Support Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in supporting patient pathways and ensuring patients receive timely, high-quality care throughout their dermatology journey.

Working closely with clinicians, nurses, operational teams and patients, you will provide administrative and pathway support within a busy service. Responsibilities include managing waiting lists and patient records, coordinating appointments and follow-up care, monitoring patient activity against Trust standards, supporting urgent and cancer pathways, and acting as a key point of contact for patients and colleagues.

You will use your organisational skills and attention to detail to resolve queries, maintain accurate information and support the efficient delivery of safe and effective patient care.

This role is ideal for someone who is organised, patient-focused and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where their contribution makes a real difference to patient outcomes.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook and Excel. Evidence of relevant administrative training or equivalent experience.

Desirable

NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, Customer Service or equivalent qualification. Evidence of continuing professional development.

Knowledge Essential

Understanding of confidentiality, data protection and information governance requirements. Understanding of the importance of accurate data entry and record keeping.

Desirable

Knowledge of NHS performance standards, including RTT and Cancer Waiting Time targets. Understanding of NHS policies and procedures. Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements within the workplace. Understanding of Dermatology or outpatient services.

Other Requirements Essential

Flexibility to support services across different departments and sites when required. Ability to travel between Trust sites if necessary.

Skills and Abilities Essential

Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate sensitively and tactfully with patients and carers Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to use initiative and make appropriate decisions within own area of responsibility. Reliable, flexible and patient-focused approach.

Desirable

Experience of using multiple healthcare information systems. Ability to produce reports and analyse routine data Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Experience Essential

Experience providing administrative support within a busy office environment. Experience managing and prioritising a varied workload. Experience maintaining accurate records and databases. Experience communicating with colleagues and external organisations by telephone, email and in person.

Desirable

Experience of NHS working practices Twelve month's previous office experience Experience working to deadlines, waiting lists and performance targets.
