About this role

Job summary

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Registered Professional with an interest in patients who are visiting our Musculoskeletal departments

You will be working alongside an established, consultant and nurse led team to enable you to provide expert care to this complex patient group and assisting with advice and clinic reviews. You will support the team in ensuring a high standard of care and act as an advocate to the patient and their families.

You will use your knowledge and clinical decision making skills to provide a quality, integrated service for rheumatology, fracture and orthopaedic patients within North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

Good communication skills and resourcefulness are key to the role as the post holder will communicate closely with a variety of personnel and departments across the Trust and the wider community.

The successful candidate will manage and lead the teams and will support and guide the wider multi-disciplinary team to develop new services and pathways in order to improve the patient experience.

The post holder will act as a role model in the delivery of patient care, support, teach and inspire others to ensure a positive patient experience and delivery of an ever growing service.

The post holder will be required to travel between Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

Main duties of the job

To provide a management role for the Rheumatology and Orthopaedic CBU outpatient staff ensuring that care is delivered to a high standard.

To be responsible for the effective management of the workload and provide a safe environment for patient's staff and visitors.

To undertake a management role, alongside Matron, in planning co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the MSK service to outpatients on a day-to-day basis.

To work within and across professional and organisational boundaries, liasing with other professionals to deliver expert care to a high standard to clients.

Take the lead role in specialist advice for MSK patients.

To work with the Matron to improve services to patients and develop staff.

Qualifications Essential

Registered Professional Education to diploma level or equivalent Evidence of post registration education Teaching qualification or willingness to undertake

Desirable

Degree level study Management qualification Plastering qualification

Experience Essential

At least 5 years post-registration experience At least 2 years working as a senior team member Experience of leading a team Experience of direct supervision of qualified and unqualified staff Ability to manage staff, conflict and difficult situations and to challenge and support others appropriately and assertively

Experience in plastering skills Experience in managing a team

Skills Essential

Able to organise and lead meetings Computer literate. Internet, email, Word Able to communicate effectively at different levels Excellent communication skills with an ability to write concise and comprehensive reports Keyboard accuracy
