Are you passionate about shaping the future of social work education and workforce development? Do you have expertise in adult social work practice and Best Interest Assessor (BIA) education? We have an exciting opportunity for a social work academic to join our growing team and make a meaningful contribution to our teaching, research, and continuing professional development (CPD) portfolio.

The University of Lincoln’s School of Health and Care Sciences is home to a vibrant and interdisciplinary community of more than 1,800 students and over 120 academic staff, delivering programmes across Nursing, Social Work, Paramedic Science, Diagnostic Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Speech and Language Therapy. Our social work provision includes undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as an expanding portfolio of commissioned CPD, developed in close collaboration with local authorities and regional partners.

The Role

As Lecturer in Social Work, you will play a key role in delivering and enhancing our social work education. This includes:

Teaching and assessment across core social work modules, with a particular focus on adult practice.

Contributing to the design and delivery of BIA and other specialist CPD programmes to meet regional workforce needs.

Supporting students in both academic and pastoral capacities.

Working with practice partners to strengthen placement learning and enhance the student experience.

Participating in curriculum development, quality assurance, and interprofessional education across the wider School.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience as a practising social worker and/or BIA, and welcome applicants who combine academic and practice-based expertise.
