About this role
Purpose of the position Head of Parts Procurement Asia Pacific will have overall responsibility of Parts Supply Chain, in Asia Pacific area.
This position is a member of the Parts Procurement Leadership team representing Supply chain function for Asia Pacific, reporting to Director, Parts Procurement & Item Data Management.
The position is assigned to Lead and develop Area Supply chain and supplier base towards world-class performance
Areas of responsibility
• Lead Parts Supply Chain Performance Own and develop Parts Supply Chain operations within the Area, ensuring high availability of spare and process parts, short lead times, and competitive cost levels to support aftermarket growth and customer uptime. • End-to-End Procurement Accountability Manage and optimize category purchasing, sourcing and operative procurement with a strong focus on responsiveness, lifecycle cost, and availability of critical spare parts. • Drive Service Value Creation Own and deliver on Valmet’s Strategy by Increasing Savings, Cost Competitive Country Sourcing by localization and improved flexibility, secure On-time delivery and sustainability in supply chain” by balancing cost efficiency with service level excellence and supply resilience for aftermarket needs. • Customer-Centric Stakeholder Support Actively support Sales, Customer Service, and field operations to secure parts availability, fast response times, and high service levels, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and lifecycle business. • Strategic Alignment & Execution Contribute to supply chain strategy development with a strong service perspective and ensure effective translation into actionable plans, focusing on availability, lead time reduction, and inventory optimization. • Process Excellence & Compliance Lead implementation and continuous improvement of global supply chain processes, ensuring high standards in quality, safety, sustainability, and compliance across all service flows. • Capability & Performance Development Build a high-performing team with strong expertise in Parts Procurement management, driving continuous learning in planning, sourcing, and supplier collaboration. • Global Alignment & Governance Act as the Area representative in the Global Supply network, ensuring alignment, knowledge sharing, and adoption of best practices tailored to aftermarket requirements. • Organizational Development Continuously develop the supply chain organization to support growth in the aftermarket business, ensuring scalability, agility, and competence in parts logistics and procurement. • Cross-Functional Collaboration Ensure strong collaboration between Supply Chain, Sourcing, Sales & Customer Solutions, and Production to secure seamless end-to-end parts delivery and improved customer outcomes. • Resource & Capacity Management Ensure optimal allocation of resources to manage demand variability and secure high service levels for spare parts availability. • Performance Management & KPIs Define and follow up on KPIs such as availability, delivery precision, fill rate, inventory turns, and cost efficiency, ensuring alignment with business targets. • Profitability & CCC Utilization Drive effective utilization of the CCC organization with a clear focus on improving profitability, responsiveness, and workload balancing for aftermarket flows. • Supply Assurance & Delivery Execution Ensure reliable sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of all direct and indirect materials and services, with special focus on critical spare parts and urgent customer requirements. • Supplier Network Development Continuously develop supply centers and supplier base to improve flexibility, lead times, quality, and cost competitiveness for aftermarket parts. • Aftermarket Logistics Excellence Support and co-develop Parts logistics operations to support fast, reliable, and cost-efficient delivery of spare parts, including emergency and express deliveries. • Customer Delivery Performance Ensure consistent fulfillment of customer orders with high on-time delivery performance and responsiveness to unplanned and urgent demands. • Support Product Lifecycle & Cost Efficiency Contribute to new product introduction, spare part readiness, and lifecycle management while driving continuous cost improvement initiatives.
Requirements
• Head of Parts Procurement, Asia Pacific role is a senior management position which requires a mature person with solid experience in managing large Supply chain operations in an international business environment. In this role, you need to understand the business dynamics of international sales and services. • This role requires managing and working within a global multicultural team and must demonstrate strong leadership skills with determined approach and have ability to motivate others as the team. Solid communications and negotiation skills are also basic requirement. • Preferred candidate is known of solid planning and excellent execution of plans. To be successful in this position good insights in Supply Chain. • We are looking for candidate more than 10 years working experience within this scope, and also with previous experience in working in management role. We expect Engineering and Management degree, relevant IT skills. Fluency in spoken and written English. • Most importantly we are looking for person with an attitude and genuine drive to make success within Valmet.
