About this role

Role will be employed by Trafigura but dedicated entirely to the Lobito Atlantic Railway operations, a project in which Trafigura holds a significant equity stake and through which Trafigura is responsible for the commercialisation and operations of the line.

The Logistics Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily logistics and supply chain activities to ensure efficient transportation, storage, and distribution of goods along the Lobito railway. This role involves working closely with the clients of the railway line. internal teams, suppliers, customs clearing agents, the railway concession and the terminals to maintain smooth operations and meet delivery timelines. The successful candidate will be based in Lubumbashi - DRC

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate Cargo and track deliveries from origin to destination • Communicate with suppliers, freight forwarders, warehouses, and customers • Communicate with the clients on tracking and reporting, as well as any other information they may require • Monitor customs progress closely and track any potential delays • Prepare and check key documents (including invoices, shipping documents, customs paperwork) • Update data in internal systems • Monitor inventory levels, aging and stock movements • Resolve issues such as delays, missing documents, or delivery discrepancies • Support the commercial team with operational and administrative tasks

• Ensure compliance with transport and customs regulations and company procedures Experience and Qualifications

• Tertiary Degree • + years of experience in logistics or similar fast-paced trading /logistics environment • Knowledge of multimodal transport (road, rail,) • Familiarity with in-transit warehouse operations • Strong Logistics Operations skill set. • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks • Competencies

• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines • Commercial acumen and cost optimization mindset

• Internal: Regional Commercial Team, Execution Team, Logistics Coordinators, Trade Support teams, Trade Operations teams, Railway line, terminals • External: Clients, LSPs, customs clearing agents
