About this role
The Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the mechanical construction management, coordination, inspection, and commissioning-readiness activities for the assigned DSCO data center project site. The role ensures that all mechanical systems are properly coordinated, installed, inspected, tested, documented, and prepared for commissioning and operational readiness. This includes cooling systems, plantrooms, pipework, pumps, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, ventilation, drainage, containment interfaces, builder’s work requirements, controls interfaces, and mechanical testing prerequisites. For the DSCO program, this role is critical because cooling is a capacity, reliability, maintainability, and commissioning issue. The SJ proposal states that cooling infrastructure competes for shafts, corridors, roof zones, service yards, and plantroom space with power, fire protection, and structural systems, requiring strong mechanical coordination from early construction through commissioning.
