About this role
Position Summary: Mechanic II supports plant operations by making necessary repairs and adjustments to production equipment in a safe and timely manner.
Position responsibilities:
• Receives work orders, diagnoses trouble and performs work as required.
• Notifies supervisor of any trouble of a complex nature.
• Diagnoses and makes repairs or adjustments to production equipment and water treatment plant equipment such as: Air Compressors, Air dryers, Tenter Frames, Hot Melt machines, Inspection Machines, Dosing System, Openers, Slicers, Slitters, Hoists, Packaging Machines, pumps, etc.
• Performs preventive maintenance work as directed by management.
• Performs moderate amount of electrical work as directed by management.
• Keeps machinery clean and painted as required.
• Removes snow/ice from designated areas using hand tools.
• Maintains good housekeeping in work area.
• Follows all safety procedures and policies and advises supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
• Any other duties as requested by supervisor.
Essential Skills and Experience:
• Possess and maintain general knowledge of all production and support equipment as listed above.
• Proficiency in the use of various hand, power tools, shop tools, plumbing and welding tools, Multimeter for troubleshooting, cleaning and painting equipment.
• Assist with various chemicals in the water treatment plant, lubricants, cleaning solvents, de-watered sludge.
• Time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks

Education requirements:
