Chrysalis Psychiatry is a growing outpatient mental health practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We offer a variety of mental health services including medication management, psychotherapy, and interventional treatments for PTSD, depression, and other mental illnesses. We are looking a for hard working and empathetic individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant supports both clinical and front office operations to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality patient care. This role is responsible for coordinating patient services, supporting providers with clinical tasks, and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.
Job Duties Performed:
Patient Care & Clinical Support
• Perform patient intake, including vital signs and documentation in EMR
• Conduct UA drug screens and other assigned patient tests
• Assist providers with clinical procedures, including TMS treatments
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of patient diagnostic documentation
Medication & Authorization Coordination
• Submit prior authorizations for medications and TMS in a timely manner
• Process prescription refill requests accurately and efficiently
• Communicate with providers, pharmacies, and patients regarding medication needs
Front Office & Patient Experience
• Check patients in and out, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience
• Answer phones and manage scheduling for new and existing patients
• Maintain professionalism and high-quality customer service in all interactions
Documentation & Administrative Accuracy
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records in EMR
• Manage patient forms and ensure proper documentation workflows
• Support overall clinic organization and operational efficiency
• Process all medical record transfers.
Compliance & Team Collaboration
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative team members to support clinic operations
• Maintain reliability, professionalism, and accountability in all duties
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internally and with patients.
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook), experience with electronic medical records strongly preferred
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• High school diploma or GED required
• Training/certification as a medical assistant preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
